Azul Claro

The difficulty that lies in the work of the ceramic artist is somewhat hidden. We know the allure of high-gloss polishes, in part, because we know about their difficulty. However, obtaining matte finishes on porcelain is even more complex.

The light blue Carnac washbasin is the opposite of its cobalt blue companion. Its preparation requires a precise formulation that allows turning cobalt blue into a soft, matte and velvety light blue. The artist applies the pigment bound in oil with a sponge, as glazes that subtly blur the raw porcelain without completely hiding the material.

Porcelain, after baking at high temperature, is revealed as a beautiful piece with a visual finish reminiscent of the patinas of microcement. Light blue Carnac is a fine piece, with a warm and serene blue that enhances the exquisite reliefs of its exterior.
